Sonoma sits on a valley floor of vineyards with hills on both sides: Sonoma Mountain to the west, the Mayacamas to the east. Most of the homes we serve are not on the flat grid around the Plaza. They are up the hillside roads, on acreage, at the end of long private driveways.
Grove Street climbs west out of town into the canyons and ridges of the Diamond A neighborhood, where Kenleigh, Spring, Prospect and Viewcrest wind between oaks and open lots. On the east side, Gehricke Road and Wood Valley Road head into the lower slopes of the Mayacamas. Up the valley, Arnold Drive and Highway 12 run through El Verano and Boyes Hot Springs and on to Glen Ellen and Kenwood.
These are the addresses where wired options tend to thin out, and where a rooftop antenna with a clear view across the valley works well. Most installs here are about finding that view. Installation
Most Sonoma installs are on hillside or rural lots, so the work is mostly about finding the one spot on the roof with a clean view.
Tell us the address and we check it against the valley terrain and our coverage map. On a hillside street like Grove or Gehricke we can often tell which side of the house faces the network before anyone drives out.
A technician walks the property and tests signal from the roof, a gable end or, on wooded lots, a short mast where the oaks open up. Long driveways and outbuildings are normal here; we plan the cable run with you before drilling anything.
Once the antenna is aligned we bring the service up, set up your WiFi and check coverage room by room. For a barn, studio or guest house across the property, we can add a point-to-point link or extra access points.
Every connection starts the same way: an availability check, then a site survey at your property. What changes is what we talk through and what your agreement covers. Questions from Sonoma
Often, yes. The antenna needs a clear path from one spot on your roof to one of our network sites, not a clear view in every direction. On wooded lots the survey is about finding that gap, sometimes with a slightly taller mount. If there is no gap, we tell you so.
Not in practice. The morning fog that settles on the valley floor does not affect the signal in any way you would notice. Trees that grow into the path over the years can, so we leave a margin when we aim the antenna and can re-check it if things change.
It is normal in Sonoma. The connection is wireless, so the length of the driveway does not matter; what matters is the view from your roof. The only cable we run is from the antenna to the router inside your home.
Usually, yes. We put the antenna on the main house and can add a point-to-point link or outdoor access points to reach other buildings. Tell us about the outbuildings at the address review so the survey can plan for them.
We do. The network is monitored around the clock and phone support is 24/7/365, so a problem is usually spotted before you notice it. If a technician visit is needed, we can coordinate with a property manager or caretaker.
