Marin County
Nicasio is a wide, rolling valley of grazing land and oak savanna, ringed by forested ridges, about eight miles west of Novato. Three rural roads cross it: Nicasio Valley Road, Point Reyes-Petaluma Road and Lucas Valley Road. Homes sit on acreage along those roads and the lanes off them, often at the end of a long gravel driveway with a barn or a shop out back.
Coverage out here is parcel-specific. Cell signal comes and goes in the folds of the valley, and wired options reach some roads and skip others. A rooftop antenna with a clear shot to a ridge is often the practical answer, and the same approach carries over to Olema, Point Reyes Station, Inverness and Bolinas on the coastal side.
The honest part: rural addresses vary a lot. Two neighbors on the same road can get different results because of a stand of redwoods, a fold in the hill or where the house sits on the parcel. That is why the site survey, not the map, decides.

Installation
Every rural address is its own case, so the steps are simple and the survey does the deciding.
Tell us the address and, if you can, where the house sits on the parcel. We check the map for a likely shot to one of our network sites and tell you honestly if it looks doubtful before anyone drives out.
A technician walks the property and tests signal from the roof, a gable end or a pole near the barn. On a ranch we also look at the outbuildings you want covered, and where power and cable can run.
Once the antenna is mounted and aligned, we bring the connection inside, set up WiFi and check it from the kitchen to the far end of the house. Long houses and metal roofs sometimes want a second access point; we say so before we leave.
Every connection starts the same way: an availability check, then a site survey at your property. What changes is what we talk through and what your agreement covers. Pricing and connection details depend on your property and how you use the internet, so we go over them with you directly rather than posting a menu.

Trees are the biggest variable out here, more than distance. What matters is a clear path from a mount point on your property to one of our network sites, and a gap in the canopy is often enough. The survey answers that on the spot. If there is no clean shot we tell you, rather than install something that will not hold up.
Fog on its own is not what decides a link; terrain and trees are. Heavy rain and wind have a small effect on any wireless link, which is why we monitor the network around the clock. The line of sight found at the survey is what sets day-to-day performance.
Often, yes. If the outbuilding has power, we can extend the network by cable or a short wireless hop between buildings, and we plan that during the survey rather than after. Tell us up front what you want covered and where it sits on the parcel.
Yes. We offer managed phone service for homes and businesses that runs over the internet connection, which is a common answer where cell signal drops in the folds of the valley. Ask about it when you call and we will set it up with the install.
The approach is the same, the terrain is different. Inverness Ridge is steep and wooded, the Bolinas Mesa is flatter and more open, and Point Reyes Station and Olema sit in the valley along Highway 1. Some addresses have a clean shot and some do not, so we run the address review first and only schedule a survey when it looks promising.
Plenty of West Marin homes are weekend places, and the service runs the same either way. There are no data caps, so a camera or a thermostat checking in while you are away costs nothing extra. Ask us what makes sense for a part-time place when you call.
