Installation
Our technician sets up the router we supply as part of installation. This guide covers where it lives, how it connects, and the settings you may want to change later.
Every WebPerception installation includes one router. It connects to the PoE injector, the small indoor power adapter that feeds the outdoor antenna, with a single Ethernet cable. There is no modem anywhere in the chain.
Four pieces, one cable between each. The order never changes.
Mounted at your property, aimed at one of our tower sites.
Indoors. Powers the antenna over the outdoor cable. Two ports: POE to the antenna, LAN to the router.
The injector's LAN port goes to the router's WAN or Internet port. One router is supplied with installation.
WiFi and the router's LAN ports carry the connection to everything in the building.
The injector has two ports. POE carries power for the antenna and can damage equipment that is not built for it. Only the LAN port goes to the router. If the labels have worn off, call us before you plug anything in.
Our technician does this during installation. Here it is again for the day you move the router or replace a cable.
Central, up off the floor, out in the open. Not in a cabinet, a closet, or behind the TV. Every wall between the router and your devices costs signal.
Ethernet from the injector's LAN port to the router's WAN or Internet port. Power to the router. The outdoor cable stays in the injector's POE port.
The injector should show a light, and the router's internet or WAN light should come on within a couple of minutes.
The network name and password are printed on the label on the router. Enter them exactly; passwords are case-sensitive.
The label also shows the address and sign-in details for the router's settings page. The exact menus depend on your router model.
Rename the network, set a new password, or turn on a guest network if your model offers one. Reconnect your devices afterward.
The exact menus depend on your router model. The label on the router shows where to sign in.
Sign in using the label, open the wireless or WiFi settings, set the new password, and save. Every device will ask for the new one. Keep a note of it near the router.
Gives visitors internet without access to your own devices. Many routers offer it under wireless settings; not every model does.
TVs, printers, thermostats, and cameras join the same network name. If your router shows two names, older devices may only see the 2.4 GHz one.
Most routers check for updates from their settings page or app. Install updates when the maker offers them. If we manage your network under an agreement, we handle updates for you.
Extra access points, mesh systems, and custom cable runs are quoted before any work starts. Upon request we can design and install whole-home or whole-business WiFi.

No. Fixed wireless has no modem. The outdoor antenna receives the signal, the PoE injector powers it, and the router does the rest. If a guide from another provider mentions a modem, skip that step.
Yes. We supply one router as part of the installation cost, set it up, and test it before we leave. Additional access points, mesh systems, or custom cable runs are quoted before work starts.
The router we supply is set up and tested as part of your installation. If you would rather use your own, or add one behind ours, call us before you swap anything so we can make sure the handoff is set up correctly.
If you never changed it, it is on the label on the router. If you changed it and lost it, sign in to the router's settings page using the label and set a new one, or call us and we will walk you through it.
Nothing connects until the injector's LAN port is on the router's WAN or Internet port. Move the cable, wait a minute, and check the lights. If you plugged the POE port into the router, unplug it right away and call us so we can check the router.
Upon request we design and install whole-home and whole-business WiFi, and we can set up, maintain, or monitor your network. Call or text and tell us about the space.
